Children's Learning Center
Children's Learning Center, a well-established, not-for-profit preschool in DeKalb, IL., with 50 years of experience, takes pride in its Gold Circle of Quality. It offers a comprehensive approach to early childhood education, ensuring that every aspect of your child's development is nurtured. This unique approach distinguishes it from other preschools, making it an excellent choice for parents seeking high-quality care and education for their children.
Our Organization
All CLC programs are licensed by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) to serve children ages six weeks to twelve years. Our diverse staff, which includes individuals from various cultural and educational backgrounds, ensures that our programming, staff ratios, and activities are tailored to each age group and individual child, creating an inclusive and enriching environment for all.

As stated in our bylaws, we are dedicated to serving children from low-income families. This commitment is reflected in our enrollment, with about 75% of children eligible to receive financial assistance for child care costs. We support all families and provide a nurturing environment for their children.

ExceleRate Illinois recognizes CLC for achieving the Gold Circle of Quality. ExceleRate® Illinois is administered through INCCRRA under the joint direction of the Illinois Department of Human Services and the Illinois State Board of Education.

At CLC, we believe in the power of diversity. We welcome children of all economic levels without regard to sex, race, religion, national origin, or disability. Our doors are open to all, and we strive to create an inclusive and accepting environment for every child.

*Gold Circle of Quality by ExceleRate Illinois. The Gold Circle of Quality recognizes programs that have demonstrated quality on all standards, as verified by an independent assessor.
